Chief Robert Lockhart

Chief Robert Lockhart first came to the Christopher Kohl’s Fire District (CKFD) in August of 2014 as our interim Fire Chief. In February of 2015, he signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and agreed to accept the position of full time Fire Chief, for the following four years. Chief Lockhart has served with four different departments, in two different states. He has served as a Firefighter, Engineer, Paramedic, Fire Officer, Fire Marshal, Deputy Chief, and Fire Chief. His education and professional credentials include a Bachelor in Science for Fire Officer, an M.B.A. in Business Management, a C.F.P.S. for Fire Protection Specialist from the N.F.P.A., and finally an E.F.O. for Chief Officers from the National Fire Academy (N.F.A.).

In his relatively short career with the CKFD, he has improved Insurance Services Organization (ISO) rating, our budget, our fleet, the morale, and our success rating i securing grants. He has been a big part of solidifying the department’s relationship with the community it serves. He regularly attends many HOA meetings and almost every department and community event. He has also been instrumental in updating our Mutual Aid and Mutual Aid agreements with our neighboring departments. His office is always open to his staff and the community.

It is no secret that this department is what it is today as a direct result from Chief Lockhart’s many long hours, tireless efforts, and vast experience/education as well as his dedication and heart for both this organization and the community. CKFD will forever be grateful for all his efforts and contributions.
