Dave Elston

Dave Elston is a retired aerospace executive who has been volunteering with CKFD supporting medical and fire calls since 2015. His substantial medical training was gained as a preventative Search and Rescue Ranger for the National Park Service at the Grand Canyon. He is certified in Wilderness First Aid (University of New Mexico), Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) and as a Wilderness First Responder (NOLS Outdoor Leadership School). Dave is a resident of Christopher Creek and is always quick to assist the department whenever he is in town.

The Christopher Kohl’s Fire Department is proud to acknowledge Dave for all his knowledge and experience, as well as the countless hours donated to CKFD.

Wyatt Ranft

Wyatt is going on his third year as a seasonal Wild Land Firefighter. He started his career with CKFD as a member of our Wild Land Division. He spent his second season on a Fed engine for the United States Forest Service. This season (2020), Wyatt was hired on with the Payson Hotshots.

“Each crew I have had the pleasure of working with has taught me countless skills and techniques to help improve my skills as a Wild Land Firefighter and as a leader.”

Wyatt will always have a home here at CKFD and is a welcome asset to our Wild Land Division.
