Engineer/CEP, Jason Tutay

Jason has been a reserve Engineer/Paramedic with CKFD since 2009. He began his career in 2000 after gaining his Arizona State Fire I and II certification as well as his EMT certification the same year. In 2000, Jason was hired full time with Payson Fire Department where he still works today as a Captain/Paramedic. In addition to Payson Fire and CKFD, Jason also reserves with Forest Lakes Fire District and is a member of Payson PD as an SRT Medic. Jason’s years of experience, knowledge, in tandem with his multiple roles and perspectives, makes him an tremendous asset to this organization.

Jeffery Yungkans has been a reserve Engineer/Paramedic with the Christopher Kohl’s Fire Department since March of 2013. Both his knowledge and experience has made him an asset to the community and this organization.
Jeff started his career in the fire service right out of high school as a reserve for Diamond Star Fire District, now Hellsgate Fire District where he now serves as a Captain. He obtained his Arizona State Fire I and II certification in 2005 and his EMT cert in 2006. Wanting to further his career and continue his education, he went to Paramedic school in 2011 and completed the program in 2012 with a National Registry Emergency Paramedic certification.
One of Jeff’s greatest accomplishments in his career thus far is becoming a NWCG Engine Boss for wildland fires. Jeff has been on wild fires, small and large, all over the United States since 2005.
The Christopher Kohl’s Fire Department is proud to acknowledge Jeffery Yungkans for his service and accomplishments in the fire service.

Engineer/CEP, Michael Ruiz

Michael has been with CKFD since 2019. He started his career as a part of the CKFD Wild Land division and quickly moved over to the structure/EMS side of the department after gaining his Fire I & II and his EMT certifications.
