Christopher Kohl’s Fire District provides non stop fire/medical coverage. Out of the three stations throughout the district, station 51 (on Christopher Creek Loop just off state highway 260) is constantly fully staffed. All stations house fire apparatus maintaining fire protection for the district. We have three shifts that alternate using a 48/96 (48 hours on shift, 96 hours off shift). It is our goal to provide this district the best medical support possible, by staffing each shift with a CEP and an EMT. Any and all CKFD members stay current with all certifications and training available as well as maintaining and keeping current with all life saving equipment. Since CKFD is not a transporting agency, our staff works closely with several mutual aid partners; including neighboring fire departments, ambulance agencies and flight crews, providing the best care possible in and throughout our rural area.
